HAHA, I know that smile.

Peace was the destination
you wanted to rest,
you chose to settle
for so much less –
You chose vigor and spite,
chose to seek vengeance,
to gouge those eyes
and break every bone
till your mind became his
and your heart, cold as stone.

Because there’s where Peace lies
doesn’t it, son?
See that jaw broken, and bloody bruised eyes,
To smell the blood of the one
who cut you to pieces once.

HAHA, I know that smile.

But what do you then
when all you want is for
the remnants of the war
you fought through infinity
to fade?
The war that never did end,
the battles you fought
some to victory and some to rot,
what do you do then
with those scars that still cry sometimes,
those wounds you festered
in hope of redemption?
Do you still want those memories to stay, boy,
or be gone, be gone away –
let a lapse of reason be,
reason no more, just forget?

How are you guys?
